The founders

Sophie and Viktoria have known each other for over 15 years. Having worked for international luxury brands such as LVMH, Hermès, Andreas Murkudis, Mulberry or Paperlux Studio it was just a matter of time when their path crossed again and voilà Upton Noble was born. Their backgrounds in communication, printing, fashion PR and Interior Design provided a perfect platform for designing wallpaper. Upton Noble's aim is to design something that people enjoy looking at. Wallcoverings do not need to be boring neither bourgeois.

Every day is different at the UP office. Logistics are talked over during a morning walk to the manor estate with a coffee break in the field. Designs are sketched out on watercolour in the rose garden.Samples are cut in the Victorian conservatory watching the sun going down. The paper and the company's branding are carefully selected and designed in the Warehouse District in Hamburg. New designs are talked over while enjoying one of Trinny Woodall’s gym sessions. Upton Noble doesn’t feel like work. For the founders it is a project of companionship and curiosity to offer aesthetics of a difference.

From Wiltshire with Love ...

The head office is based in the Wiltshire countryside in the Nadder Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Upton Noble is surrounded by creatives and architectural gems such as Messum’s, Hauser & Wirth, Pythouse Kitchen & Garden, The Newt, Beckford Arms, Fonthill Estate, Philipps House only to mention a few. The light, nature's colours and the local food inspire Sophie & Viktoria to create their wallcoverings. Whilst Sophie does a lot of milage travelling around the world and Viktoria often stays in London, Wiltshire always feels like a sanctuary when returning.
