A 19th century Arts & Crafts movement slipper chair, which is really comfortable and it is newly upholstered. The chair comes from an artist's home in South East London. Traditional construction, classic upholstery. We did a total overhaul with the upholstery, springs are checked and replaced and the webbing is completely new. Upholstered in Robert Kime fabric. We applied a subtle piping on the sides to give it its classic look and applied a traditional antique brass nail corner trimming and it still has its original castors wheels on oak legs. The height of the backrest and shape of the legs suggest it was a piece of the Arts & crafts era. Lovely provenance detail: the chair once belonged to Kathleen Raine, a British Poet!
